I launched my new website and The Body Shop Training

Hey everyone, I have some exciting news. Last night I launched my new website. It took me a few days to build and get everything as I want it but I am happy with it for now. I will eventually get my own domain name which will be better.  Please check it out and leave me your thoughts in the comment box.

The next exciting thing is that I had my new starter training. It was amazing, very inspirational. I learnt a phenomenal amount of information about our products and their ingredients.

I have so much enthusiasm for the business, its products and values.

Summer Make-up Tutorial using The Body Shop Shimmer Cube

Hey everyone, so you all know how much I love The Body Shop, so I thought I would do a summer  make-up tutorial using The Body Shop Shimmer Cube 23.

First I apply my concealer. I use the wand to apply the concealer to my under eyes, on my blemishes and freckles. I wait about 10 seconds then blend out. I use Maybelline Super Stay 24 hour  in shade number 2.

Next I apply my foundation. I apply a small amount to my fingers then dab this on my forehead, cheeks, chin and nose. I then spread and blend this out to cover my whole face. That needs to be done quickly as it starts to set quite fast. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear in Cool Bone.

To set my foundation  I use a pressed powder.   I use the Real Techniques Stippling brush to stipple this all over my face. The stippling brush apples an even amount of product in a fast and even way.I then take my kabuki brush and dust over the top to ensure all foundation has been covered.I use Rimmel Clear Complexion in transparent.

Next I contour my face with bronzer. I apply this with a N07 Blush powder brush, starting in the hollows of my cheeks and working up to my temples. Then under my jaw line and blending down the neck. I use the bonzing compact by Active.

Next is my favourite step, eyeshadow. I apply this in stages. I am using The Body Shop Shimmer Cube 23. This is a good place to mention that the body shop shimmer cubes can be used wet or dry. Use a wet brush to apply more of the hightly pigmented shadow for intense colour or apply with a dry brush for a more subtle look.

Firstly I take pearly white and apply it as a highlighter just under my eyebrows and in the corners of my eyes by the tear-duct. I use The Body Shop eyeshadow brush for this.

I then take candy pink and apply this to my entire lid. Again using The Body Shop eyeshadow brush. Sorry that the pin hasn't shown up much in this picture.

The next step is to apply orchid purple to the crease and upper and lower lash line. I do this with The Body Shop slanted brush.

I then blend out the crease with The Body Shop blending brush.

I love The Body Shop brushes as they are good quality and soft and gentle on the eye. They are easy to wash and do not loose any hairs and last for years.

The last step for the eyes is mascara. I apply my upper lashes first then zig zag the lower lashes. This gives volume, if like me you like length let the first layer dry and then add another layer to give the length required.

Last but not least is lipstick. Normally I do not like lipstick due to the dry or slimy feeling or most of all the taste. However  the Estee Lauder creme lipsticks feel smooth and as if your not wearing a lipstick. Best of all there is no horrible taste. This shade is crystal pink.

I hope you enjoyed my summer look. Take care x

Thoughtful Thursday: The Body Shop at Home

Hey everyone, I attended a meeting today with The Body Shop to learn about their company and their various positions. This is where I was introduced to the idea of becoming an The Body Shop At Home Consultant. This is where I would run parties or pamper evenings in people's homes. They try products and get freebies and the host gets to choose £25 worth of products and gets 70% of their purchases. I love the body shops products and love their ethos and attitude to the world. I am meeting with the regional manager to talk more about the opportunity. Thank you to my friends and family who have already supported me. Everyone else if you would like to host a party please let me know I would be very greatful.

Weight Loss Wednesday: Inspiration

Hey everyone today I want to talk about my weight loss inspiration. This is not my goal which is to go to Universal Studios next year but the women I would love to have my body match.

No1 is Kim Kardashian, she is curvy and real. I like the way that she looks great in any outfit and is completely confident. I don't think I would like my bum that big though.

No 2 is Nicole Scherzinger I like her figure because she is in total proportion, she is toned and elegant looking.

Looking at these women and their figures lets me keep it in my mind what I want to achieve.

Who is your inspiration?

TTC Tuesday: Who's the mummy?

Hey everyone, I have decided to talk abut something that I am quite interested in. As you are aware I plan to Egg Share, during my research I came across a bit of a debate. The children that come as a result of egg sharing and IVF obviously have parents but who they are is the subject of the debate.

It seems that women that accept the eggs seem to try and discredit the woman who's eggs she is using. They call the egg sharer 'the donor'  These women claim they are the only mother to the child. They are  a mother to the child as they nurture the egg and give birth to the baby

The other school of thought is that the child will have two mothers. A genetic mother from the lady who shared her eggs and the birth mother who gives birth and brings up the baby.

I do not want to hurt or offend anyone with my opinion but this blog is about being honest. As a person who is planning on egg sharing I feel I have a unique view on it. I would feel no entitlement or attachment to the child as I did not carry them for nine months or give birth to them. However I would regard myself as their genetic mother. This is why I agree with writing the letter to the child. They have a right to know their genetic history and where they come from. It seems ungrateful and insensitive that some birth mothers totally discount the egg sharer and sometimes seem to have a horrible attitude towards it.

For me I feel like egg sharing is a gift helping another couple have children which they could not do alone. I have even considered letting the clinic make the couples aware when I share again so they can have genetic siblings.

What are your thoughts? Take care x

Marriage Monday: Guide to Wedding Dress Shopping

Hey everyone, its Marriage Monday again which means wedding talk!! So all you Brides out there know that one of the MOST important decisions of the Wedding is which dress you will wear. I have put together a guide to dress choosing and trying to help you find the perfect gown.

1. Choose who you take wisely. You want to take people who have your best interests at heart and will be absolutely honest with you. This being said you want people who will make you feel good about yourself.

2. Have an idea of what you want to buy. Bring pictures on your phone of dresses or aspects that you like. Compile a list of things that are a must have and things you do not want. All these things will help the bridal consultant show you things that match.

3. Set a budget, make sure you ask the bridal consultant your maximum price and ask them not to show you anything above that. You do not want to fall in love with a dress that is out of your reach, and every other dress you try on doesn't match up to it.

4. Keep in mind your venue and the style of your wedding. A sheer or highly revealing dress will not be suitable for a church wedding and a big ballgown does not do well for a beach wedding.

5. Keep an open mind, try on all styles and listen to the consultant. If they advise that a cirtain cut could compliment your figure more or that a different colour would match your complexion better, listen and try it out.
